For Teresa

IMG_1515

The sun’s last rays peek o’er the hill,
Shadows now long do grace the earth,
My collar turned up to night’s first chill,
Thoughts on years past, since my own birth.

I gaze upon this mountain stream,
And watch the autumn leaves flow by,
Knowing now I’ve lived the dream,
I found my answer to question “why?”

You and I have shared life’s joys,
You hold my heart in your kind hand,
Your Love’s tone has pierced the noise,
You soothe my heart, you understand.

To our cabin I now climb, no hill too steep,
For eternity in your arms I sleep.
